Welcome to CATE 2016
Kia ora koutou and welcome to the CATE Conference 2016 here in the wonderful Waikato from 16th to 18th November 2016. The venue for the conference is the Claudelands Event Centre located centrally in Hamilton City. Home of the Ranfurly Shield, Waikato University, Waikato Institute of Technology, the dairying centre of New Zealand, Hobbiton, the wild West Coast and the Coromandel Peninsula, the Waikato region has it all!
Our theme for 2016 is From Pasture to Plate and Beyond – we will celebrate the Primary Industries and look at the wide variety of careers and prospects that are covered by this vocational pathway as we look to the future – how will New Zealand use the Primary Industries to prepare ourselves for the future. Gone are the days of daggy old farmers in old clothes, relying on their feet and animals – today we look to modern technology to feed the world, and New Zealand is a world leader in this area.
Our four strands from that theme are: Sustainability in a Changing World, Innovation in Career Practice, Thinking toward the Future and Working with Diversity.
Please note that our Abstract Submissions are still open until the 15th August, you can click here for further information.
CATE members will be able to learn from their peers and renowned experts in their fields a wide range of tools and practical tips to take back into their own professional practice. In the true tradition of CATE we are offering a quality experience of speakers, workshops, real life situations, and a wealth of exhibitors. There will be opportunities to network and have fun. We will truly be “Expanding Horizons”.
Follow this web site over the next few months as we reveal the programme we are bringing together to make the CATE Conference in Hamilton on November the 16th to 18th a top priority for 2016.
